What happens on the day you elope?

Eloping offers you and your partner the opportunity to get married in a truly authentic and intimate way, whether you want to stick with traditions or you want to throw the rulebook out the window. If you’re wondering what happens on the day you elope, we’ve put together a quick guide so you have a better idea of how your celebration can unfold.

Can I have bridesmaids if I elope?

Absolutely! You can still have your family, bridesmaids, or groomsmen by your side if you elope, and they can even act as your witnesses.

Do you walk down the aisle at an elopement?

Yes, you have the flexibility to choose whether you want to walk down the aisle to your partner or walk in together, hand-in-hand, ready for your vows. Whichever way you choose to begin your ceremony, we’ll work alongside you to make sure it’s your definition of perfection.

How many guests are considered an elopement?

Generally, an elopement takes place with just the two of you, alongside your witnesses who have often been members of the Brickhouse Vineyard team. It’s an intimate celebration, but you can still include a small number of close friends or family members.

Do you invite people when you elope?

Yes, you can invite a select few people, such as close friends or family members, to be a part of your elopement. They can also act as witnesses during the ceremony.

How do you do an elopement?

During your ceremony, you can exchange your vows, host a choice of readings, and sign the necessary paperwork for the legalities, etc. Afterwards, it’s time to capture the moment with your wedding photographer. You’ll find an array of gorgeous backdrops at our Devon wedding venue, from the vineyard and its surrounding views to the charming barn and Round House.
