When it comes to your aisle style for eloping, there really are no rules! Whether you want to stick with a traditional white wedding dress or you want to stray away from the norm, the most important factor is that your outfit feels like you.
We love nothing more than seeing the outfits that our couples choose to wear when they elope at Brickhouse Vineyard, adding to the personal and authentic element of their elopement. The only thing weโd recommend considering is whether or not you want your elopement outfit to be something you wear again after youโve said, โI Doโ, or if you want it to be a one-off wear. This can sometimes affect your aisle style choices!
What do you wear when you elope? The Bride
For brides, we think you can go all out with sequin gowns, chic jumpsuits, cocktail dresses or even a fashion-forward suit. And if you donโt fancy sticking to white, you donโt have to! If youโre renowned for rocking bold colours, bright details or carefree designs, channel the same vibes at your elopement wedding.
What do you wear when you elope? The Groom
When it comes to an outfit for the groom-to-be, comfort and confidence is key. You may want to surprise your partner in a daring print or an unusual material โ such as a whacky tie or velvet attire. Linen suits are always a brilliant choice for those balmy summer days, while three-piece tweed suits are great for the chillier months.ย
Donโt forget, if youโre spending less on your overall celebration, you may want to spend more on your wedding day looks and styling. Perhaps youโve seen a pair of heels that youโve had your eye on for ages but you havenโt been able to justify spending the money on โ what better time than your elopement?! You may want to go all out with your outfit details, from your jewellery to cufflinks, watches to bowties. What to wear to an elopement as a guest?
If youโre a wedding guest attending an elopement, make sure you get the dress code from the couple before you begin shopping. If the couple want something chilled out and casual, reflect this in your attire. However, they may still want their dress code to be as formal as it would be at a traditional soirรฉe, in which case take this into account when planning your outfit.ย
